“Red Sand Lighthouse”
The “Red Sand” Lighthouse located north of Wilhelmshaven is on a virtual line with the island Wangerooge. The building measures 28 meters in height and was the first lighthouse built in the open sea. From 1885 to 1964, its beacon has warned seafarers against the shallows of the Weser delta. Today it attracts many tourists and is one of the best-known sights in the German North Sea islands.
